2017, the year of slippers

Slowly Slippered

Somehow everyone but me got slippers for Christmas. I didn't think much about this until I smelled my trusty, silver glittered slippers. Four years ago they beckoned me on the Walmart clearance rack- under $5 for shinny new slippers. Yes, please!

After four years they stank! I threw them in an extra soapy hot load with a full cap of downey (don't judge! yes I love fabric softener, and I know its killing me). I thought my problems were solved, but nope. Nasty, boy feet smelly slippers went in the trash.

A week later I noticed a clearance sign over the slippers! It's divinely planned! With Elsie's help, I chose the softest, cuddly, pink slippers under $10 could buy. They were so pretty I couldn't bring myself to wear them for days. And I was worried Jason would notice my extravagant new purchase so I waited for him to leave town--why am I so lame?

Tuesday night I went for it! Watching Malcom in the Middle with Zeke, I pulled them on, and oh my goodness! My feet thanked me. My whole body relaxed. My life got so much better, brighter, worth living. Can slippers really change my drearily days?

I got me some magic slippers! If these gloomy winter days & troubling times for our nation and world have got you down, get yourself some magically soft, obnoxious slippers and wear the heck out of them. Today they made me smile vacuuming. They even inspired me to finally write and post something publically!

What little thing brightens your day?
